Magdalena Bay is a huge protected lagoon on the Pacific coast of Baja California Sur, sheltered by long barrier islands. Inside, anglers fish the mangroves for snook, corvina, halibut and grouper; outside, the open Pacific offers striped marlin, wahoo, dorado and tuna — and gray whales calve in the bay each winter.
