Cabo Pacific Fishing Charter Encounters a Powerful Sailfish

Departing IGY Marina at 6:15 AM, Captain David navigated Blue Sea past the famous Cabo Arch and into Pacific waters.

The crew deployed a trolling spread featuring Google Eyes baitfish, supported by a tournament-style dredge designed to imitate a school of baitfish and attract offshore predators.

At 9:00 AM, approximately ten miles offshore, a powerful sailfish struck the trolling bait.

The fish measured 99 inches and weighed approximately 105 pounds, providing an exciting highlight for the group.

The crew successfully brought the sailfish alongside the vessel, completing the morning's documented catch.

Cabo Tournament Fishing Techniques Enhance the Charter Experience

The dredge was an important component of the trolling presentation, creating the visual impression of schooling baitfish beneath the surface.

Marlin and sailfish are both known to investigate trolling spreads, although the exact influence of any individual attractor cannot be determined without observing the fish underwater.

Captain David's crew combined offshore trolling techniques with coordinated tackle handling throughout the charter.

Drone footage also captured perspectives of the group's fishing adventure aboard the spacious 60-foot Bertram.

Cabo October Fishing Opportunities on a Private Charter

October offers opportunities to encounter sailfish, striped marlin, blue marlin, dorado, yellowfin tuna, and wahoo in waters surrounding Cabo San Lucas.

Although marlin were among the potential target species, the confirmed catch on this October 18 charter was one 105-pound sailfish.

The group returned to IGY Marina at 11:15 AM after five hours offshore, bringing their Pacific fishing adventure to a close.
