Two marlin caught and released highlighted an afternoon offshore adventure for Chad and Jonathan, the group from Dallas, Texas, aboard Blue Sky Cabo's 35-foot Riviera Blue Water. Captain Oscar guided the five-hour private charter on October 15, 2026, departing Cabo San Lucas at 1:00 PM.
Stephanie arranged the trip following a referral from Claus. The afternoon delivered encounters with three offshore species, with fishing activity concentrated between El Arco, Los Arcos, and the Cabo Lighthouse.
Cabo Fishing Charter Encounters Dorado and Sailfish
The first strike occurred at 1:30 PM when a dorado attacked a trolled Caballito bait approximately three miles offshore from El Arco. The fish failed to hook up.
At 1:50 PM, a sailfish struck another Caballito bait roughly three to four miles offshore near Los Arcos. Despite the strike, the sailfish also escaped without a hookup.
These early encounters preceded the afternoon's successful billfish action.
Cabo Fishing Charter Releases Two Marlin Near the Lighthouse
At 2:40 PM, two marlin struck Caballito baitfish between the Cabo Lighthouse and El Arco.
Both fish were successfully caught and released.
The first marlin measured approximately 100 inches and weighed an estimated 120 pounds. The second measured approximately 104 inches, with an estimated weight of 130 pounds.
The charter included two lunches and a Tournament Dredge – Fish Attraction Device as part of the offshore fishing equipment.
