Solid Fishing Except for 2-Day Storm! ( Another just missing us)

Our own, Jorge Romero, went 4 for 4 on big tuna. Each taking 60-90 minutes while fishing with Captain Gerardo out at the 88 bank.

SHORT ATTENTION SPAN FISHING REPORT

WEATHER:  HOT HOT HOT!  Had unexpected 2-day storm and some afternoons drizzle (nothing big), but the humidity is pretty crushing. Typical.  Stay hydrated. Hurricane Genevieve is missing us but causing big waves.

WATER:  The one day we had to pull all our boats off the water and another day, we couldn’t get out’ve the bay, but other than that, the waters settled down and mostly blue and warm

FISH HOOKED THIS WEEK:  Tuna, dorado, sailfish, roosterfish, marlin, wahoo, dog-tooth (cubera) snapper, jack crevalle, bonito, pargo, yellow snapper, cabrilla, rainbow runner, treveally, pompano

MEXICAN MINUTE LA PAZ VIDEO FISHING REPORT

Well…once again, the fishing report is late.

About a week ago, we had a “torito” (baby bull) which is basically a small hurricane that came roaring out’ve nowhere.  They are not on any forecast so there’s no way to predict these, but with intense heat and evaporation from warm ocean waters, clouds build up and get saturated and well…they gotta drop all that water somewhere!

So, down it all comes.  A small hurricane.  They can last for minutes or hours, but torrential rains, thunder, lightning, big waves and, in this case some small tornados and water spouts (see the photo above) . Not a good time to be on the water.

One day, we had to call all the boats in.  Another day, they couldn’t fish because of the big waves, so two days it was jacked .  Part of town got flooded .  Even after an hour of rain, things flood pretty quickly. Big mess. Rockslides, etc . Then it was all gone.
