Tonight as I sit here writing this weeks report I’m thinking to myself just copy and paste last weeks report. Honestly nothing has changed. Spring break is in full swing, the weather is perfect and the fishing is off the hook.

So let me think what else I can say. Hmmm Bait is widely available and on the way to the fishing grounds. Both large baits mackerel and cabs as well as sardines are equally effective.

The yellowtail are are schooled up on every piece of structure on the ocean floor. These moss backs are all thru the water column and the surface bite is just insane. Limits by mid day are common with some guests throwing pencil poppers and chuggers on light gear just because they can. Both Cabrilla and Pargo are mixed in with the yellowtail so the variety of great eating fish are filling the coolers. Inshore fishing for rooster fish and Jack Cravelle are breezing off the beaches, both slow trolling live bait or site casting is getting the job done. The Rooster fish are running north of 40lbs, all catch and released. It’s still early for Billfish, they will start to show up around June.

The whale sharks are back and in full swing, this is a must event while visiting La Paz. Swimming with these gentle giants is a memory of a lifetime.

As the water conditions continue to warm up we are starting to see more Dorado in the daily counts. Mostly little peanuts which we encourage to release as their growth rate is so rapid in just a few short months they will be a respectable size and great table fare.

The tuna that were hanging around the North end of Cerralvo are MIA. They may reappear or not, hard to say. We normally get a early spring bite then they disappear until summer.

Check out our website, we are running some early season specials for multi day packages.

That’s it for the week as I said it’s a cut and paste report.
