Offshore Report
We had a respite from the tough Bluefin bite for a couple days this past week but it seems that spell has returned once again. The fleet once again saw fish all around but didn't have any luck with what they found. There has been an influx of Yellowtail around which allowed a few of the boats to find some action.
The Tribute ended their 1.5 Day trip with 1 Bluefin, 3 Yellowfin and 40 Yellowtail for their 30 anglers. The Tribute's next available trip will be an Overnight departing Thursday, June 30th and there are plenty of spots remaining.
The Pacifica wrapped up their 1.5 Day trip with 16 Yellowtail and 5 Bonito for their 29 anglers.
Inshore/Islands Report
The San Diego had some phenomenal Coronado Islands fishing on their Full Day charter today. They called it a day with 36 Yellowtail, 82 Barracuda and 44 Calico Bass for their 29 anglers. Due to the great fishing they saw today, Captain Ryan has decided to convert all upcoming Offshore trips to Coronado Islands up to July 3rd. A valid passport or passport card is required for all anglers on these trips.
This weekend it seems that the local conditions have thrown the Calico Bass for a loop as well. Things have slowed but there are still plenty of bass around that are willing to bite. Today's AM trip ended with 15 Calico Bass and over 45 released, 5 assorted rockfish and 2 Lingcod for 45 anglers. The PM Half Day wrapped up with 26 Calico Bass and over 50 released with 5 rockfish for their 45 anglers. Though it is slow right now the conditions could turn the bite back on any day now!
