Another banner billfish week from Cabo San Lucas with most of the hot
action still coming from the Golden Gate Bank on the Pacific side.
High catch boat for the week was the "Gaviota IV", skippered by
Captain Octavio Castillo, with 21 stripers for 4 fishing days and
releasing all but one. Overall combbined counts for a total of 41
days fished reflected 113 stripers, (106 released) 37 dorado, 18
yellowfin tuna and 15 sierra.
Cabo Climate: Partly cloudy days with temps from 59 nights to 85 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: Excellent conditions with temps from 74 at the Golden Gate Bank and rising to 77 on a north/south line from Chileno Bay
Best Fishing Area: Continues to be the Golden Gate Bank, but fair billfish catches are being reported from the Red Hills area, just above the Gorda Banks, too.
Best Bait/Lure: Live mackerel remains the hot bait for billfish and is still available at the Golden Gate Bank
Live Bait Supply: Remains plentiful, including mackerel and caballitos.
