The full moon has had an effect on the Mazatlan catches and only
every third offshore cruiser was able to land a sailfish. It also
seemed to hobble the blue marlin action, too, which had been picking
up steam and then, fizzled this week. Overall counts for the
offshore waters for 22 fishing days reflected 7 sailfish, 1 mako
shark and 91 dorado. The inshore super pangas, reporting for 11
fishing days, reflected 44 dorado and 95 cochitos for the week.
Mazatlan Climate: Warm & humid, partly cloudy days, temps from 76 nights to 89 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: Generally good with some minor southerly swell conditions, light winds, temps from 82 inshore to 83 offshore.
Best Fishing Area: The fish are scattered in the offshore areas and there is no specific area.
Best Bait/Lure: The billfish taken on rigged baits and the dorado taken on both live baits and deeper running arrtificials.
