HOURS OF OPERATION
OPEN Seven Days a Week
Park Hours:
7:00am -- 5:00pm; all watercraft must arrive before 3pm to be inspected, and trailered boats must be at the kiosk by 4:00pm to be banded.
There have been on and off positive tests for blue-green algae in and around the swimming area. Park visitors should be watchful of their dogs, taking care that they stay on leash the entire time they are in the park and that they do not contact the water. Currently, our boat ramp and fishing pier are both open.
If the kiosk is closed, please use the yellow Ventek machine to pay for parking (exact change only, please!). For fishing permits, you may either use the Ventek machine or the blue iron ranger posts across from the kiosk, from the entrance from the Isherwood Staging Area, and from the walk-through gates by the Sequoia Bridge and from the Niles gate.
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU MUST BE 100 FEET AWAY FROM THE FISH TUBE, THE BOAT DOCK, AND THE BEACH AREA while fishing from the shore and from a boat. Also, note that the use of lead fishing tackle is prohibited at Quarry Lakes. You can exchange lead tackle at the kiosk in a “1 for 1” trade for stainless steel weights.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
The weather has been cooling. There has been a good bit of rain as well as some cold and windy days. The ACWD has turned on the water pumps, so water is coming in from Alameda Creek. The water level is on the rise!
CATFISH
A few catfish are still being caught.
TROUT
Quite a few trout are still being caught by both boaters and shore fishermen, despite our last scheduled trout plant being accidentally dropped off at another lake. Please remember that the daily catch limit is five trout per angler.
BASS
Bass bite has been fairly slow. Not too many anglers have reported catches.
CATCHES REPORTED
On November 20, 2016, Brian Schermerhorn of San Jose caught a beautiful 6lb. 1oz. rainbow trout using a rapala. He was fishing to the right of the swim beach.
